An experienced Python programmer and scientist, Robin Wilson has a PhD in satellite imaging from the University of Southampton. His research focuses on the quantitative application of satellite data, and during his PhD he developed a novel method to monitor air quality from satellites at very high resolution. Robin has released Python libraries that are well-used in the satellite imaging community, such as Py6S (www.py6s.rtwilson.com), and spends much of his time inside an editor.

As a Fellow of the Software Sustainability Institute (www.software.ac.uk), Robin is working to improve the quality of the software used in science, with a particular focus on the reproducibility of computational science.

His website is at www.rtwilson.com/academic, he blogs at www.blog.rtwilson.com, tweets @sciremotesense and hosts his code at www.github.com/robintw.
